- Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve some pasta water and drain.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add red pepper flakes if using.
- Add pasta, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Toss well.
- Add reserved pasta water as needed to loosen sauce.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Remove from heat, toss with parsley, and serve.
Notes
Serve immediately for best flavor. Add Parmesan if desired.
