Ingredients
  

Burgers
  • 4 butter croissants large
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 blend
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 small tomato sliced
  • 0.5 cup lettuce shredded
  • 8 slices pickles
  • 2 tbsp butter melted, for brushing croissants
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • optional condiments ketchup, mayo, mustard, or special sauce

Equipment

  • Skillet or griddle
  • Spatula
  • Mixing bowls
  • Basting brush

Method
 

  1. Slice croissants in half and brush lightly with melted butter. Toast until golden.
  2. Divide beef into 4 portions, loosely roll into balls.
  3. Preheat skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Place beef balls on skillet and smash with spatula until ¼-inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook 2–3 minutes per side. Add cheese during last minute, cover to melt.
  6. Assemble burgers: croissant bottom, lettuce, tomato, pickles, patty with cheese, croissant top.
  7. Serve immediately with fries or salad.
