Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Melt chocolate chips and butter together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- Whip eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until pale and thick.
- Mix in the melted chocolate mixture until well combined.
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Fold gently into wet ingredients.
- Fold in chocolate chips or chunks. Let batter rest 10 minutes.
- Scoop batter onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until shiny and crinkled on top. Cool on wire racks.
Notes
For extra shiny tops, whip eggs and sugar for the full 4 minutes.
