Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and butter a baking dish.
- Arrange a layer of sliced sweet onions in the baking dish.
- Season onions with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Dot onions with butter and sprinkle with shredded cheeses.
- Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Best served warm. Use Vidalia onions for the sweetest flavor.
