Ingredients
  

Mochi Dough
  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup cornstarch for dusting

Method
 

  1. Whisk glutinous rice flour and sugar in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Gradually add milk, whisking until smooth.
  3. Stir in melted butter and vanilla extract.
  4. Microwave for 1 minute, stir, and repeat twice until thick and stretchy.
  5. Transfer to cornstarch-dusted surface and cool slightly.
  6. Cut into bite-sized pieces and coat lightly with cornstarch.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Reheat briefly to restore softness.
