Method
- Sauté onions, carrots, and celery in olive oil until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste and cook briefly.
- Transfer mixture to slow cooker.
- Add crushed tomatoes, broth, garlic, salt, pepper, basil, oregano, and bay leaf.
- Cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- Stir in milk for the final 15 minutes.
- Remove bay leaf and serve.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a Parmesan rind during cooking.
