  • 3 leeks cleaned and sliced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt or to taste
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 clove garlic minced, optional

Method
 

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add butter and olive oil.
  2. Once butter melts, add the cleaned leeks and toss to coat.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 12–15 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper as leeks soften.
  5. Add garlic during the last 2 minutes of cooking if using.
  6. Cook until leeks are tender and lightly golden, then remove from heat and serve.

Notes

Cook leeks slowly over gentle heat to avoid browning and ensure a silky texture.
