Ingredients
  

Leeks
  • 3 large leeks white and light green parts only
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 0.5 tsp salt or to taste
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Method
 

  1. Trim leeks and slice into half-moons. Clean thoroughly in cold water and drain well.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat.
  3. Add leeks and salt, stirring to coat evenly.
  4. Cook gently for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until leeks are soft and glossy.
  5. Season with black pepper, adjust salt, and serve warm.

Notes

Cook leeks slowly to avoid browning and preserve their silky texture.
