Ingredients
  

Skillet Base
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 12 oz smoked sausage sliced
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 bell peppers diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice uncooked
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add onion and bell peppers to the skillet and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
  5. Add rice and spices, stirring to coat and lightly toast the rice.
  6. Pour in chicken broth and return sausage to the skillet.
  7. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  8. Remove from heat, rest briefly, fluff, and serve.
