Method
- Rinse cranberries and discard any damaged berries.
- Combine cranberries, pineapple, sugar, orange juice, water, and salt in a saucepan.
- Add cinnamon stick if using and bring mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst and sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat, discard cinnamon stick, and stir in orange zest.
- Cool slightly before serving; sauce will thicken as it cools.
Notes
Adjust sweetness to taste. Sauce can be served warm or chilled.
