Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 0.75 cup warm milk
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 0.25 cup orange juice fresh
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Coating
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
Orange Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp orange juice
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Bundt pan
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with sugar and let sit until foamy.
  2. Mix flour, salt, eggs, melted butter, orange zest, and juice to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead dough until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise until doubled.
  4. Cut dough into small pieces.
  5. Dip each piece into melted butter, then coat in brown sugar and orange zest.
  6. Layer dough pieces into a greased bundt pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until golden.
  8. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm monkey bread.

Notes

Best served warm. Add cream cheese pieces for extra richness.
