Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients, alternating with milk or cream, until soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into a rectangle, spread butter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar, cut into strips, and twist.
- Place twists on baking sheet and bake 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
- Cool on wire rack.
- Beat butter with powdered sugar and vanilla; add cream to reach desired consistency.
- Drizzle or sandwich twists with filling, serve or store.
