Onion Rings
  • 2 large white onions
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 jalapeños finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs panko preferred

Method
 

  1. Slice onions into thick rings and pair sizes.
  2. Mix cream cheese, jalapeños, cheddar, and spices.
  3. Fill onion ring gaps with mixture and freeze 30–45 minutes.
  4. Bread rings in flour, egg mixture, and breadcrumbs.
  5. Fry at 350°F for 2–3 minutes per side until golden.

Notes

Freezing before frying helps keep filling intact.
