Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 0.75 cup warm water
  • 2.25 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
Garlic Butter
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 1 tbsp Parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until foamy, about 5–10 minutes.
  3. Stir in flour, salt, and olive oil to form a dough.
  4. Knead dough on floured surface until smooth, 6–8 minutes.
  5. Let dough rise 1–1.5 hours or until doubled.
  6. Divide dough, roll into ropes, and tie into knots. Place on baking sheet.
  7. Let knots rise 20 minutes.
  8. Mix butter, garlic, parsley, Parmesan, seasoning, and salt.
  9. Brush knots lightly with butter mixture and bake 12–14 minutes.
  10. Brush with remaining garlic butter before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add more Parmesan or brush with garlic butter twice.
