- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onion until soft, then add garlic.
- Add ground venison and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Season venison with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
- Stir in vegetables, soup, and milk until well combined.
- Remove from heat and mix in 1 cup shredded cheese.
- Spread mixture into baking dish and top with tater tots.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2–3 minutes.
