Ingredients
  

Beef Souvlaki
  • 2 lbs beef sirloin cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 0.25 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Serving
  • 4 pita breads warm
  • 1 cup tzatziki
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 0.5 red onion thinly sliced

Method
 

  1. Whisk olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Add beef cubes and toss to coat evenly. Marinate for 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Soak wooden skewers for 20–30 minutes if using.
  4. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Thread beef onto skewers with slight spacing between pieces.
  6. Grill for 8–10 minutes, turning every 2–3 minutes until charred and cooked to preference.
  7. Serve hot with pita, tzatziki, tomatoes, and onion.

Notes

Best served immediately for maximum juiciness; leftovers reheat well in a skillet.
