Ingredients
  

Brownie Batter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 6 oz dark chocolate chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 0.5 tsp salt
Salted Caramel
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream warm
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp sea salt flaky

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and dark chocolate together until smooth. Cool slightly.
  3. Whisk sugars, eggs, and vanilla until glossy.
  4. Whisk in melted chocolate mixture.
  5. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  6. Pour half batter into pan, add caramel, then top with remaining batter.
  7. Bake 30–35 minutes until edges are set.
  8. Cool completely and sprinkle with sea salt before slicing.

Notes

For extra gooey brownies, slightly underbake and allow to set while cooling.
