Ingredients
  

Chicken Dish
  • 4 chicken thighs or breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 shallot minced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.25 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp whole grain mustard optional
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp tarragon
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp lemon juice optional
  • salt and pepper to taste

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil and sear chicken until golden; remove and set aside.
  3. Add butter, shallots, and garlic to skillet and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Stir in Dijon mustard and optional whole grain mustard.
  5. Add chicken broth and scrape the pan to deglaze.
  6. Stir in cream, tarragon, and thyme.
  7. Return chicken to skillet and simmer until cooked through and sauce thickens.
  8. Add lemon juice, adjust seasoning, and serve warm.

Notes

Serve with potatoes, noodles, or crusty bread.
