- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Boil peeled sweet potatoes until fork-tender, drain well, and mash until smooth.
- In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, melted butter, sugars, eggs, milk, vanilla, spices, and salt.
- Mix until smooth and evenly combined.
- Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix pecans, flour, brown sugar, and softened butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
- Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until golden and set.
