Ingredients
  

Bread Base
  • 1 loaf brioche or challah bread cubed
Custard Mixture
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • pinch salt
Fruit
  • 1.5 cups blueberries fresh or frozen
Topping
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes and place in greased baking dish.
  2. Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Fold blueberries into cubed bread evenly.
  4. Pour custard over bread and press lightly.
  5. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Mix brown sugar, melted butter, flour, and cinnamon until crumbly.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Sprinkle topping over bread.
  8. Bake 45–50 minutes until golden and set.
  9. Cool 5–10 minutes, dust with powdered sugar, and serve with maple syrup.
