Method
- In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and mixture begins to simmer.
- In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch with water to form a slurry.
- Slowly whisk slurry into the simmering sauce.
- Cook 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened and glossy.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using or storing.
Notes
Adjust sweetness or thickness to taste. Sauce thickens more as it cools.
