Easy Homemade Blackberry Jam

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice fresh
  • 1 tsp lemon zest optional
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

  1. Rinse blackberries and place in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Crush berries gently as they warm.
  3. Add sugar, lemon juice, zest, and salt. Stir to combine.
  4. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat.
  5. Simmer 20–25 minutes until thickened.
  6. Cool slightly and transfer to jars.

Notes

Jam thickens more as it cools. Adjust sugar to taste.
