Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp cloves
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg large
Filling
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp milk or cream

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast with warm milk and sugar.
  2. Mix dry ingredients for dough and combine with butter, egg, and yeast mixture.
  3. Knead dough until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let dough rise until doubled in size.
  5. Prepare filling by mixing butter, brown sugar, and spices.
  6. Roll dough into rectangle, spread filling evenly.
  7. Roll dough into log and slice into rolls.
  8. Let rolls rise until puffy.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes.
  10. Beat glaze ingredients until smooth.
  11. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat slightly before serving.
