Easy Christmas Tree Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk 110°F/45°C
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 eggs large
Filling
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg optional
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk or cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit until frothy.
  2. Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually mix in flour to form dough. Knead 5–7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–2 hours until doubled.
  4. Mix filling ingredients until smooth.
  5. Roll dough into rectangle, spread filling, slice strips, and shape into Christmas trees. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Cover rolls and let rise 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake 18–22 minutes until golden. Cool slightly.
  8. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls. Decorate with sprinkles.
  9. Serve warm or store in airtight container.

Notes

For extra soft rolls, brush with melted butter after baking. Adjust spice amounts to taste.
