Ingredients
  

Chicken Filling
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp brown sugar optional
Serving
  • 6 hamburger buns toasted
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, optional
  • 6 pickles optional

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions, bell peppers, and garlic until softened.
  2. Add ground chicken and cook until no longer pink.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and brown sugar.
  4. Simmer 8–10 minutes until thickened.
  5. Toast hamburger buns.
  6. Spoon chicken mixture onto buns and garnish with parsley or pickles.
  7. Serve immediately with sides of choice.

Notes

Adjust Cajun seasoning to taste for spicier or milder flavor.
