- Wash and hull strawberries. Pat dry.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. In another bowl, beat egg, milk, and vanilla. Combine wet and dry ingredients to form batter.
- Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Dip strawberries in batter, allowing excess to drip off.
- Fry strawberries 2–3 minutes until golden, turning occasionally.
- Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar. Serve immediately with optional chocolate or caramel sauce.
Notes
Best served fresh. Can be paired with ice cream or whipped cream.
