Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1.75 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs large
  • 0.75 cup blackberry purée strained

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven and prepare cake pans.
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk.
  5. Fold in blackberry purée and bake.

Notes

Use ripe blackberries for best color and flavor.
