Method
- Peel and chop sweet potatoes into evenly sized chunks.
- Add sweet potatoes to the crockpot with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt. Toss to coat.
- Add 1/4 cup water or orange juice. Cover and cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours or LOW for 6–7 hours.
- Mash sweet potatoes lightly or leave chunky if preferred.
- Top with marshmallows and cook on HIGH for 10–15 minutes until melted.
- Serve warm straight from the crockpot.
Notes
For a toasted top, transfer to a casserole dish and broil for 1–2 minutes.
