Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in egg yolk and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add flour and salt gradually until dough forms.
- Roll dough into balls and place on baking sheet.
- Press thumbprint into each cookie and fill with jam.
- Bake 12–14 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on wire rack before serving.
Notes
Use thick jam to prevent spreading during baking.
