Ingredients
  

Donut Holes
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • oil for frying
Coating
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pot.
  2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together.
  3. Whisk milk, melted butter, and egg in a separate bowl.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Scoop and roll dough into small balls.
  6. Fry donut holes 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Remove with slotted spoon and drain briefly.
  8. Roll warm donut holes in cinnamon sugar.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispy donut holes, fry in small batches and let the oil return to 350°F between batches.
