Ingredients
  

Cookie Batter
  • 3 Medjool dates pitted
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup hot water
  • 0.5 cup coffee or 1–2 shots espresso
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch cinnamon or sea salt optional

  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Soak dates in hot water for 3–5 minutes to soften.
  2. Blend softened dates, cocoa powder, vanilla, and hot water until smooth.
  3. Heat milk until hot, then froth.
  4. Brew coffee or prepare espresso.
  5. Pour chocolate date mixture into mug, add coffee, and stir.
  6. Top with frothed milk and dust with cocoa or cinnamon.

Notes

For a smoother texture, strain the blended date mixture before adding coffee.
