Ingredients
  

Taco Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 0.5 cup salsa
Assembly
  • 10 hard taco shells
  • 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chopped onion until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning and salsa. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  5. Stand taco shells upright in the baking dish and fill evenly with meat mixture.
  6. Top each taco generously with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 12–15 minutes until shells are crisp and cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from oven, cool slightly, add toppings if desired, and serve.

Notes

Customize with chicken, beans, or extra spice. Serve immediately for best texture.
