Ingredients
  

Beef Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 2 tbsp flour
Biscuit Topping
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cold, grated
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add mixed vegetables and broth; bring to a simmer.
  5. Sprinkle flour over mixture and stir to thicken.
  6. Mix biscuit topping ingredients in a bowl until just combined.
  7. Pour beef filling into a greased baking dish. Drop biscuit dough over the top.
  8. Bake at 400°F (205°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra richness, brush biscuits with melted butter after baking.
