Ingredients
  

Chai Spiced Coconut Milk
  • 2 cups coconut milk full-fat
  • 1 tea bag black tea or 1 tsp loose leaf
  • 1 stick cinnamon or 1 tsp ground
  • 4 pods cardamom or ½ tsp ground
  • 0.5 tsp ground ginger or 1-inch fresh slice
  • 2 cloves whole
  • 1-2 tsp sweetener maple syrup, agave, or sugar
  • nutmeg pinch for garnish

Method
 

  1. Heat coconut milk with cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cloves in a saucepan over medium heat until steaming.
  2. Add black tea and steep 3–5 minutes. Remove tea bag and strain whole spices if used.
  3. Stir in sweetener to taste.
  4. Pour into mugs and garnish with nutmeg and optional star anise.
  5. Serve hot, optionally froth with a handheld frother for a latte-style beverage.

Notes

Best served immediately for warmth and aroma. Can be stored in fridge up to 2 days and reheated gently.
