Pastry Base
  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg beaten for egg wash
Filling
  • 0.75 cup blue cheese crumbled
  • 0.5 cup walnuts chopped
  • 1-2 tbsp thyme leaves fresh
  • 1 pinch black pepper freshly cracked
  • 1 pinch sea salt optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Brush the pastry evenly with melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle blue cheese, walnuts, thyme, pepper, and optional salt evenly across the pastry.
  5. Roll the pastry tightly from the long edge to form a log.
  6. Slice the roll lengthwise down the center to expose the layered interior.
  7. Twist the two halves together with cut sides facing upward.
  8. Shape into a wreath or twirl and place on the baking sheet.
  9. Brush the top with egg wash for a golden finish.
  10. Bake 25–30 minutes or until puffed, crisp, and deep golden.

Notes

Serve warm for the best texture. Add a drizzle of honey after baking for a sweet contrast.
