Ingredients
  

Casserole
  • 3 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan
Topping
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Lightly grease a casserole dish.
  3. Mix cooked chicken, marinara sauce, and half the mozzarella in a bowl.
  4. Spread mixture in casserole dish.
  5. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and all Parmesan over top.
  6. Combine breadcrumbs, olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  7. Sprinkle breadcrumb mixture evenly over casserole.
  8. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Broil 1–2 minutes for extra browning.
  10. Rest 5 minutes, garnish, and serve.

Notes

For a pasta version, mix in 3 cups cooked penne before baking.
